Malaysia Bans Political Cartoons Critical Of Gov’t

Malaysia banned three works of political cartoons that criticize the government, but one of the artists said Friday he was obligated to highlight issues other cartoonists would not.

The government said the cartoons in two books and a magazine posed a security threat.

Malaysia has banned dozens of publications in recent years, but usually because of sexual content or alleged misrepresentation of Islam, its official religion. But the latest ban is certain to spark complaints that the government is disallowing critical views. Read the rest of this entry »

Obama: KTT G20 Harus Lakukan Reformasi Keuangan

Presiden AS, Barack Obama, Jumat, meminta pertemuan para pemimpin dunia di KTT G20 di Toronto pekan ini untuk memperjuangkan reformasi keuangan, memacu pertumbuhan dan memperkuat ekonomi global.

Obama mencatat bahwa pertemuan pada akhir pekan ini di pusat bisnis Kanada itu merupakan pertemuan puncak ketiga G20 negara-negara maju dan berkembang sejak ia menjabat tahun lalu, dan akan didahului oleh pertemuan puncak negara-negara kaya G8. Selubung hijau di bumi dengan cepat menyust dan tingkat polusi meningkat sangat mengkhawatirkan. Kini, manusia harus memerangi banyaknya kerusakan akibat yang dilakukan oleh manusia yang dapat membahayakan alam dengan berbagai cara selama bertahun-tahun. Perubahan iklim yang mengkhawatirkan, deforestasi, penghancuran habitat dan musnahnya spesies, meningkatnya tingkat polusi, itu semua adalah hanya beberapa isu lingkungan terbaru yang kita hadapi sekarang. Mari kita lihat lebih dalam isu lingkungan yang besar yang kita hadapi saat ini.

Kylo – The TV-Friendly Browser

The ease with which computers can be hooked up to a HDTV has seen many people doing just that – whether it be to enjoy media stored on a PC or to surf the web while kicking back on the couch. Doing the latter can often be less than ideal, however, with input devices that can be difficult to use while reclining and browsers that have been designed specifically for up close and personal use on a computer screen. Last year Hillcrest Labs released its Loop pointer to tackle the first problem, and have now unveiled the Kylo web browser to address the second.
